CALENDAR OF WORK IN THE GARDEN
JANUARY, FEBRUARY
If only the weather allows, you should trim the vines, clematisy, kiwi. They need to be cut before the vegetation, because if trimmed later they ooze, which is very weakening. The best time to do it is January - February.
Every 3-4 years we recommend that you carry outthe so called rejuvenating cutting ofthe vines. You cutpart of the old canes, that will be replaced by new young stems. In the following year you can similarly cut out the remaining old stems. We especially recommend it for cultivation of clematis and wiciokrzewythat are often deprived of the young fresh leaves at the bottom after several years.

In March, we correct the summer cutting of wisteria / wistaria. Completely cut out very thin and unnecessary stems, and leave about2-3 buds on lateral shoots.
If, despite cuts in previous years, wisteria has not started flowering and is still growing very vigorously, you can limit its growth by undercutting the roots. To do so, undercut the roots by vertically digging in the spade deep into the ground within a radius of 40-50 cm around the plant.
Starting from mid-March you can already plant new vines in the garden. If you buy seedlings in containers, they can be planted into the ground from March till November. We strongly advise against the purchase and planting seedlings in small containers, so called P9. They have very small root system, which strongly hinders the adoption of the plants after planting.

This is the month of intensive growth of vines. Remember to water and fertilize them. Clematis and other vigorous climbers particularly require intensive watering. If aphids occur in the garden, you need to spray the plants immediately. Remember that a simple, effective and healthiest method of fighting plant infections and pests is to quickly tear off infected leaves or stems and their incineration.
