Schizandra Chinese (Schisandra chinensis)

Creeper family, growing wild in northern China, the Korean Peninsula and Russia in the woods on the banks of rivers and streams. Covers the fruit is sweet, the flesh is sour, bitter and sour seeds, and the therapeutic agent from the seeds during storage becomes salty. Grows to 10-12 m. Flowers creamy-white, sometimes pink.

Juice contains sugars (1.5%) and 20% organic acids and vitamin C. The seeds are the active compounds schizandryne and schizandrol, strengthening the body having jurisdiction, like ginseng. Fruits are used most frequently to produce a juice or dried for tea. Infusion or powder of dried fruits and seeds can be used for physical and mental fatigue, sleepiness, exhaustion, anemia, diseases of the lungs, gastrointestinal tract, liver and to enhance visual acuity.
Flower: May and June to the end of the plant is monoecious, but rozdzielnoplciowa what that means on the same plant develop male and female flowers.
Care: Schisandra is resistant to harsh climatic conditions. It prefers light soils, fertile, slightly acidic and moist semi-shady position.
